| In an increasingly violent and uncertain world, Aikido provides an important refuge in which the spirit, mind and body can restore, develop, strengthen, and continuously dedicate itself anew to a socially positive purpose. |

Technology has advanced to the point where a single individual can dramatically impact the safety and security of the world. Aikido, as it spreads and takes root, offers hope that as individuals we can responsibly take on the burden and narrowed-margin for human error that advanced technology has bestowed.
We may not be able to change the world at large, but we can have a direct, positive and calming effect on the level violence in our local communities and families and, thus, improve our society at large.
By learning to succeed without fighting, working with others and not
against them, and training ourselves to stay positive and calm in the
face of stress and danger, we can help fulfill Aikido's mission of peace
in important ways. |
